You are under 50 years old and have a change in bowel habit to going more often with looser stools associated with rectal bleeding without pile symptoms and abdominal pain associated with weight loss and or loss of appetite.

Additional information if you see your GP

Patients over 40 years old with these symptoms persisting for more than six weeks merit referral to a 2-week clinic. Patients below 40 years old having a normal blood test and normal examinations of their abdomen and rectum should be referred to a routine hospital clinic with a request for a prompt appointment.
